Robert Martin Simpson, 97, longtime resident of East Syracuse, passed away December 4, 2025. Robert was a WW II and Korean War veteran of the US Army. He grew up in Utica NY and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School. He graduated from Le Moyne College and was employed as Sales Manager at Niagara Scientific when he retired.
He was an avid NY Yankees and Notre Dame Football fan. He also enjoyed fishing, loved being in the Adirondacks and a good joke.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Therese (Hornett) in 2015 and his brothers, John and Edward Simpson.
He is survived by his daughters, Maureen (Joseph) Orcutt of East Aurora, NY and Kathleen (David Stokes) Simpson of NYC, NY, grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Orcutt, Matthew (Amanda) Orcutt, Erin Stokes and Alexander Stokes, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday December 9th at 11am at St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
