Robert Dean Story

With deep sadness and sorrow, we announce the passing of Robert Dean Story, 72, of DeWitt. Bob grew up and in Oriskany, NY and graduated from RIT with a degree in photography. He was a professional photographer well known in New England for ski race and rafting photography. Bob was creative, funny and kind. He loved golf, most games and sports, but especially pickleball and the many friends made while playing. Everyone knew about his soft spot for all dogs. Bob passed peacefully at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob leaves behind his wife Martha. Others include his twins Ben (Robin) Story and Casey (Ty) Sarchet; stepchildren Tobias (Jamie) Hogarth and Timothy Hogarth. Grandchildren Theo, Emery, Callum, Rosemary, Rainy. Siblings William (Gloria), Charles (Ellen), George Lawrence, and Elizabeth Miller, and several nieces and nephews. And friends too numerous to count. Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 1308 Meadowbrook Drive, Syracuse, NY 13224. Calling hours at the Church at 10:30, with service at 11am.
