Robert A. Wrobbel,80, of Apex, NC passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his family on February 3, 2023, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC.
Bob was born to the late Arthur & Wilma Wrobbel, on September 14, 1942, in Syracuse, NY. Bob’s family relocated and resided in East Syracuse when he turned 7 years of age. Bob graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1962. He was an East Syracuse, volunteer fireman. He became a police officer and worked for The Town of Dewitt Police Dept and later continued his career of 30 years, retiring at Conrail.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Kicak. Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years, Jean K. Wrobbel, sons Timothy Wrobbel, Dennis (Cheryl) Wrobbel, daughter, Maureen (JC) Haynes, sister Mary Ann (John) Orbaker. Four grandchildren, one step grandson and two nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, 206 Kinne St, East Syracuse from 10:00-11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery in Dewitt.
