Susan Lee (Scott) Unz

Susan Unz, December 11, 1944 - July 31, 2024. Born Susan Lee Scott, Sue was the first of a set of mirror identical twins. She  was a life long resident of Syracuse and a 1962 graduate of Solvay High School. She worked at Nationwide Insurance Company, Loretto and PACE of CNY until she retired. 

Sue was predeceased by her identical twin sister Sally Lou Langley, her parents Marjorie F. (Chase) Scott and Ayres Cady “Bud” Scott and her Husband William T. Unz. She is survived by her daughter, Erin Unz Rouse (Charles), her four grandchildren Alexander Unz, Owen Rouse, Brielle Rouse and Jordana Rouse, two sisters Cynthia Ehrlich of Vernon, CT and Judith Marando of Syracuse as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Sue was a kind hearted person who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved her grandchildren and her “grand dog” Marshmallow. She was a life long diehard Syracuse Basketball fan. When she was a young woman she shook the hand of President John F. Kennedy in Clinton Square. She loved playing cards and board games. 

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 2-4pm at Mathewson-Forani Funeral Home, Inc., 206 Kinne St., East Syracuse, NY
