Terry Ritchie

Terry Ritchie fell asleep in death at home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, after a battle with cancer. She was deeply loved by relatives and her large spiritual family who supported her throughout the months of her chemotherapy. She was also visited and cared for by a small army of these loved ones in her last days.

She was born Terry Collins of Quincy, FL. and was the oldest of thirteen children. As a young woman, she moved north and has called Syracuse, NY home for over 50 years. Terry served her community as a certified nursing assistant throughout her career and retired several years ago from Menorah Park of CNY. Terry was a mother, a hard worker and a homeowner. She was also a thoughtful writer and poet. Terry enjoyed winning against almost everyone at Scrabble and playing Spades. She also enjoyed traveling the world and fishing. Terry served her congregation and community as a loyal pioneer and publisher for decades teaching and sharing Bible truths with many people. As a Bible teacher, Terry was down to earth, generous, and encouraging. As she showed people Jehovah God’s promises for the future, she often emphasized her confidence in the fulfillment of these good things by referencing one of her favorite scriptures at Titus chapter 1 verse 2 which teaches that “God...cannot lie.”

Terry loved so deeply and loyally that she was a real treasure to have as a friend, sibling, mother, and auntie. She never asked for much yet her all was what she gave.

Terry is survived by one son, William (Kim) Ritchie, one granddaughter, Wyllow Anne, six siblings Steve (Gail) Collins, Wayne (Beverly) Collins, Tony Collins, Carrie (David) Wooten, Paula Collins, Debra Collins, several siblings-in-law through her former husband, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Willie James Collins, Larry Collins, Gad Collins III, Michael Collins, Angel (John) Mason and Sabrina Collins and her parents.

Funeral services for Terry Ritchie will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 4pm at the Onondaga Hill Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses,1900 West Fayette Street, Auditorium C, Syracuse, NY 13204.
