Thomas M. Nichols

Thomas Nichols, 73, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully with his wife Teri at his side on Tuesday 1/5/2021 after a brief illness.  Tom was born to Earl Nichols and Ernestine (Flynn) Nichols on the West side of Syracuse.  He attended St. Lucy’s Academy until the 8th grade before graduating from Corcoran High School in 1967.  Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in West Germany.  After completing his military service, Tom started a 37 year career at Carrier Corporation. After Carrier closed, Tom continued on as valued employee of the The Home Depot in Camillus until he retired in December due to his health. Tom was an avid golfer and a long time season ticket holder to Syracuse University basketball.  Most of all, Tom cherished his time with his family. Tom was predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert Nichols. 

He is survived by his wife Teri, daughters Jennifer (Robert) Castaldo of Rochester, Julie Nichols of Syracuse, Jessica Nichols (Peter) of Buffalo, brother James (Terry)of Westvale, grandson and love of his life Connor, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Per Tom’s wishes there will be no calling hours.  A private service was held for his immediate family, but we are looking forward to gathering for a celebration of his life when we can all be together again.
